Enterprising families operate within two institutional logics that coexist but struggle to align.

The enterprise is governed by the logic of the business: accountability, meritocracy, performance, and the discipline of markets. The family is governed by a different logic entirely: belonging, fairness, loyalty, and the unconditional bonds of kinship. Research by The Northern Trust Institute confirms what advisors to these families observe in practice: the families who sustain wealth and cohesion across generations are those who develop the capacity to work consciously within that tension, rather than being unconsciously governed by it.

That capacity is what I help families build.
