When most people hear the word “coach,” they think of sports. That is actually where my journey began.
I grew up playing soccer, basketball, and volleyball. I learned to play the clarinet as a child, picked up multiple languages, started small businesses, and even learned to dance hula, very, very beginner level. In every one of those experiences, there was always someone by my side, a teacher, mentor, or coach, who guided me, shared their skills, and helped me bridge the gap between what I could imagine for myself and how to actually become it.
I could dream it. I could envision it.
But I needed support to turn vision into reality.
As a Relationship Coach, that is exactly what I offer to the people I work with. I provide an intentional upleveling of relationship skills that allows your system to grow into the kind of couple, family, community, team, partnership, or leadership you want to be.
I am a Systems Coach and at the heart of every system are relationships.
Then I went to work. My professional life began as an entrepreneur. I moved to Hawaii and launched a translation agency to support the flow of information between global languages and cultures. Later, I opened a language school where we taught inspired people to actually communicate for themselves in foreign languages.
During those years, I also embarked on a sailing voyage around half the globe. On a small vessel, we crossed oceans and cultures, from the Caribbean and Latin America to the Galápagos, Polynesia, Australia, and Indonesia. We explored waters, lands, stars, animals, stories, histories, and possibilities.
I believe that World Peace starts close in.
Since I was young, I have felt the calling to help people learn to love each other by bridging their differences, whether linguistic, cultural, political, or personality differences. When we truly understand ourselves and each other, we can work together with more trust, creativity, ease, and ultimately productivity.
I grew up in Montreal and Vancouver. My father was a pilot, which gave me the opportunity to travel and experience different cultures and languages from a young and impressionable age. I could not get enough, so I went to study in France during high school, and in Italy during university, majoring in Russian during the Glasnost years of Gorbachev. I witnessed the reunification of German and Eastern European families with innocent awe.
My life experiences led me to this strong realization: World Peace begins within ourselves and radiates outward into our closest relationships with family, friends, neighbors, communities, and workplaces. Like the flap of a butterfly’s wing, the quality of our daily interactions can ripple out to influence the world.
I became a certified systems coach to change the world one relationship at a time.
